This model has strobing front light kit for crazy displays. Rear Lights are static and strangely light up the reflectors....? Surely the rear lights would have been better. Oh well something to modify.

Great detail in an unbreakable package with swapable performance parts makes the hotworks models a must have for FD enthusiasts.
Recent updates include Advan Super Racing Wheels.

My FD3s

While waiting for my second FD3s, I had a lot of time to think about this car. I have also had a lot of time to think about how I want to use the car. I have three main goals for this FD.

1. Looks... I guess I still love the look of the FD and it will be modified with purposeful looks to supplement the handling and performance. Plans included RE-Amemiya G9 Front, Fujita Engineering Wide panels and Advan RS wheels.

2. Fast driving in the mountains. Of all the places I love to drive, the mountains are by far the most attractive for me. Find a nice road and go from A-B very quickly. The Touge Monster status of the RE-Amemiya car and as well as the street tuned ability of Newera's Black Fd hold great appeal and this style of driving remains my goal. To enter the Targa Tasmania has always been a dream and although I will never have the funding to do it, hard driving on my own local targa stage is always appealing. However, S-Tyres will not be fitted. This will be a street car, so Advan Neova will find their way on the car.

3. My interest in drift is not about full on drifting, but increasing my driving ability. Knowing that the car will see some track time at various time is will definately be focussed in this direction also. Hopefully simple setting changes can accommodate the odd excursion.

Bring it on. The crazy ideas keep unfolding.

I created a new blog for My FD3s Project. Headover to RE-Xtreme II for the current spec, parts info, diary and tuning.
edit....
Unfortunatly the greedy investment bankers forged the sale of this beast through oil and gasoline prices. from 135/l -> 193/l during the build period made this car unaffordable to run.
Limited driving opportunities from a lack of cash caused it's sale. After being sold... ( to a lucky dude in th UK) Gas has dropped to below 110/l! Ahhhgh! Anyway a new project was started here. Check my cheap, fun, NCEC "GT" Roadster.

My FD3s

My Fd was purchased in Japan and was actually the second choice after a false start, when a cheap black Fd turned out to have low compression. (I wish I knew about newera then, instead of dodgy brothers.) Still happy with the purchase, I gave it a hard time. It has driven some of Japan's most infamous roads. From the legendary Nikko Iro-Hazaka, with its 26 hairpin corners on the downhill, to the dead straight high speed Wangan run from Tokyo to Yokohama. It has drifted around Mobara Circuit in Chiba and performed Touge runs around Kawaguchi-ko at the foot of Mt Fuji.

Starting with a stock as a rock example was a big mistake. You can pump money into any car but you dont even start to see where it went until a long period of time has passed. Progressing from the silver stocker to the C-West and Amemiya inspired bronzed beast was a long road indeed but it was done relatively cheaply in the end. As my first Fd, I wanted to build something I had always desired, but one thing got in the way. Choice! In Japan with so many new options available at your fingertips and 2nd hand parts available very cheaply you really have to keep focussed if you want to build something.

So my exposure to cheap parts probably changed the direction of the fd from the start and continued right up to the final modification. I still remember the 33% off the RE-Amemiya G9 hood and AD-GT wide body kit that I actually purchased at Fuji Speedway, 7/7/2004. How could you resist?

So the direction changed again and again. On return to Australia, when the car arrived minus a few choice items including the 3d Carbon Cusco rear wing, tuning direction continued to evolve. Alas with high kilometers approaching, the descision to sell was still not an easy one. However, it has allowed the bank balance to swell in preparation for the next FD. I can't wait!

Follow the progression from mild to wild on my dedicated Version I blog.
