Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

The covers came off for another year and in D1, Amemiya will use this car as their drift warrior. It has the rear end from last years red TAS car with the centre rotor styling.

The Porsche lights are replaced by IPF beams with a carbon surround and the carbon/IPF light combo sits in the rear also. Enkei GTC-01 are used all around and the car is otherwise the same as last year.

This year has proved that THE FD IS NOT DEAD! In fact it is very much alive! With 16 examples on show it was one of the more prolific for tuners.

Mind you 5 were from RE-Amemiya including the D1SL 7.

URAS had their new kit, but i think they couldn't decide on a colour in time. The flat black prototype effect was used like a gt-c car and it had a good effect.

Rolling on RE-30's from Rays that were on every second car at the show, it looked the part.

Can you pick the headlights...... no chance...... still no....? Well the KS Auto car with Burnout kit was equipped with what look to me were nissan march headlights, but I am probably wrong. A nice effect but we will see if it makes production.

RE-Amemiya's new white production model SPL was on show. Super Greddy II

The rear is ugly but the fenders are cool. Now a mix and match addition.

TOUGE MONSTER!

Satoru Works makes drift Knuckles for the FD. Better have Wide fenders though.

One of the replica fortunes.

There are many.

LookKing FD

Wheels are on the large size.

R-Magic Pink 4

GT300 car

Feed had the new production ready Afflux V

With moulded lights. Not the sagaris versions on the prototype.

Auto craft had their Rx8 and Rx7 at the show. The car is in race spec with all the items you require to go fast in winter. These monster V-Mounts are nigh for the air-conditioner.

A new light kit was their hot item. Very similar to the RE-A kit with a little smaller lights.

Parts from almost all manufacturers were on display in the Super-Autobacs FD project car. It sports a Feed/RE-A melded combo widebody with a monster engine,

Custom V-Mount using ARC components and Feed engine internals.

Interior is awesome with a custom dash utilising Defi guages and some blue lighting. Tan suede and a huge ICE system round of this all-rounder rolling on 17" T57Pro Gram lights with the Titanium coat.

Oh-Gr8 complete with studded Bride seats, and another 8. A big display from the GT champion. Ama-san was also doing interviews at the mazda stand talking about his Cosmo restoration project.

Seats are for the sadist in us all.

AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT BUILD AN FD LIKE THE ONE FROM TOKYO NATS COLLEGE. DO NOT DO IT.

Looks like another good FD year ahead in 2007.

Happy New Year 2007

Well the year has started much like the last only this year there were no huge parties in the streets like in Surfers Paradise. I went to a shopping centre as is custom in Japan. There were some fireworks supplied by the Disney corporation but thats about it.

Big plans for 2007, with the theme for my new car firming all the time. Plans for the new Mazda Rx7, Well they seem certainly off now until 2009 with new magazines splashing the pages with more speculation and chopped images. Rumors for this year also involve a 3 rotor turbo D1 car and a few other specialties? The touge challenge, D1 and Super Taikyu will hold interest. Watch out for some more modelling and maybe some R/C Drift.

I will continue to update this site with a diary of modifications and reviews of events and all that.
I am currently back-loading demo cars from the 90's. Check them out in the tuners section.

How long can the Rx7 hold on. Another year at least. 20 years is a long time, bring on the anniversaries.

Feel free to send me info on anything FD related and please comment on anything you see or add my blog feed to your site.

Enjoy RE-Xtreme. The difinitive home of the Mazda FD3s Rx7.
