Web Site Categories:
Blog - Main
RE-Xtreme has re-newed, re-freshed, re-aligned and re-started and most importantly re-located.
As the authour for more than 15 years, I wanted to make a new start and focus on more of my own contributions. This blog's subset of previous content shall remain unchanged as an archive however the new blog will continue the passion for Mazda's RX sports cars.
A passion for pure sports driving and expression of creativity will remain the focus.
If you haven't already, simply re-direct you links to http://re-xtreme.blogspot.com/

RE-Xtreme is now using facebook's sharing functions to promote others.

7's Day 2011 - Rx7 Overload
Web Site Categories:
Events - 7's Day
Sometimes, you just cant convey an event like this. You just see so many cool things you actually can't focus on any one. About 200~300 cars could possibly be a feature on their own.
Yes all 3 of these could be worthy of a magazine feature and the silver one is the Super Greddy III on track with full suede leather interior and perfect paint.
In this little party we have the insane Revolution NA 3 rotor Rx8, the RE-Amemiya TA 7 and the Revolution Hankook Tyre Renesis Powered Rx8.
Yes all of these are feature worth too.
Some of these guys have been circulating around Tsukuba for more than 15 years or so. In the same FD!
This is my favourite shot. A private FD3s Vacation!
Pan Speed "Street King" was actually the fastest car on the day in the 58s. The background reveals the Samurai's new D1SL machine.
Suenaga was looking very very good in the D1-7. He was placing it anywhere he wanted on different lines with ease.
This was simply a thrash fest with passengers along for the ride.
Remember, I'm just getting started with coverage... You never know what you'll see.

7's Day 2011 - The Tsukuba Vibe
Web Site Categories:
Events - 7's Day
How can I convey the feeling of Tsukuba this year. It really had a great vibe going.
I've been going back and forward through my images trying to find some that convey the variety that was on offer. At one point almost every demo car was on track at the same time.
It really was non-stop action. Some of my favourite privateers and...
The top Tuning workshops on track.
But some car's look even better up close. Maybe I need to remind you I used to own 2 FC rx7s myself, so there may be a bit more FC action this year as there were some fine examples.
Evolution of all these machines that I've witnessed over the years has been very interesting and the return of some I hadn't seen in a while made it even better.
The event had categories for owners to drive the track in a controlled manner.
And 2 main classes for Time Attack and the Hot version Race.
The variety was amazing!
So as I go through what I have and try to decide how to present it. Refresh this post with the overview to get an idea of what you are all in for in more detail from Tsukuba. Preview

7's Day 2011 - RE-Xtreme
Web Site Categories:
Events - 7's Day
For me this years 7's day was a sensory overload. My own car added to the experience but also left me a bit flat thinking that I should be on track rather than just taking pictures. I've been a bit distracted over the last few days, so over the next few days, there will be a flow of posts from 7's day.
After the Tsukuba event I headed down to Daikoku and found myself in an FD sandwich of mammoth proportions.
I'd never seen so many cars so early. Af course the police cracked down. On my way to Umi Hoteru and the Aqua line, about 20 FD and FC screamed past, but I could hardly concentrate, so I headed past the exit and went home having seen enough. Believe me, about 1000 rx-7s is enough for 1 day.
Stay tuned

7's Day 2011 - X3
Web Site Categories:
Feature - Owners
7's Day brings out more than FD3s mad fans... Sometimes unique is still cool.
Tom's RX3 is one of those miracle rescue finds in a modern world of replacement society. He has worked hard to restore this to near original condition, with all it's period correctness.
No huge over-fenders or Watanabe rs wheels, no 13b turbo swaps or wheel tubs, It's simply wearing it's original clothing very well, Tom's ready to let his time (less) machine go, so if your interested... it could be yours.

7's Day 2011 - RE-Xtreme Preview
Web Site Categories:
Events - 7's Day
What a Day! I've got so much to share. I don't know where to begin.
Armed with my new camera, (which I'm still learning) my seven's day was fueled up with awesome.
Instantly I was having fun trying new angles and finding new machines.
Somehow, everywhere I turned, there was another chance to grab a shot or two or ten. 1500 in all and a chunk of video.
Some stuff like this 5 way drift madness.
... Hot Version were there also with a 5 lap battle.
After my fill of Tsukuba, I headed down to Daikoku. After another hour I was just about done energy wise, so I headed home while the party continues right now.
There will be so much more to come over the next few weeks. Many cars were new or refreshed completely so I have lots of detail to show and a broad view of the "average owners" machines

Version III.IV

7's day Drift and Maniacal Inspiration...
When building RE-Xtreme Version III, it was always my intention to get as close to this BN sports styled Drift Attacker as I could. At the moment I am unsure where my project is heading with my 400hp single turbo FD3s up for sale and ready to abort. But it's soo close that I can smell the insanity of it all by pushing that bit further.
