Welcome to the archive for my FD3s Rx-7 Website.
It's a photographic history of RX-7 FD3s tuning history and events in Japan since 2002.
RE-Xtreme started from a love of the RX-7. As Editor of the site, I originally owned an FC NA but the desire for an FD had me researching a lot of Japanse content. I have owned a long list of cars mostly JDM models including Honda, Subaru and Toyota Turbo models, but I have now owned about 8 Mazdas including 5 Rx-7s ,3 of those being FD3s from Stock to Full tune. These cars have been mostly street tune however the desire for track adventures saw these cars used on the circuit also.
Originally based in Gold Coast and Canberra, Australia, but now in Tokyo Japan. RE-Xtreme is just a private hobby. No money is made from the site. Promotion of the RX-7 and having fun is the key. Thats why there's no advertising as such. But we're always happy to accept donations of any kind.
If something is cool, it will be here. If anyone wants to contribute send us your content, please do so.

I converted my old website from 1999 into this format. The current "blog" has been in action since 2005 when blogger started. So the site has been growing for over 10 years now. Slowly as free space requirements have grown, images have become bigger and content rich.
However I've decided to keep this archive of my own work, rather than of translations of other news articles on the web elsewhere.

What can you find on RE-Xtreme? FD3s, FD3s,FD3s and more of Mazda's RX7 FD3s.
RE-Xtreme in 2011
In 2011, What will happen? A new site with larger images and event coverage. Use of facebook for news and updates in the JDM scene.
Drift.
A love for drift events and the craziness that follows this thrash-fest. As kind as it isn't to the vehicles themselves, it's always a spectacle.D1 Grand Prix in Japan history and current events.
For 2011, RE-Amemiya has retired the above FD3s and Suenaga will drive an RX8 although with an FD Engine. R-Magic and Takayama will continue to fly the flag as the highest ranked in the Fd3s. Manabu Fujinaka is running the 3 Rotor FD3s. The long awaited TCP Magic 4 Rotor FD3s is still in final development.
NZ D1
Mad Mike is running the Ultimate 4 Rotor BN Body FD3s
Formula D
Apexi and Ryuji retired the FD3s in the USA. Some teams are still running an FD and there's a new BN sports bodied FD with V8 power.
Sometimes you'll find BDC, EDC, MSC and others as around the world there are a large number of Rx7s drifting is up.
If you want to experience it for yourself. come to Japan with powervehicles.com and drift it up. 5~10K should get a week of fun including a car!.
Japanese Show Coverage
I usually attend Tokyo Auto Salons each year. It's the best place to get a feel for tuning and car scene.
I also follow other major shows with interest. Nagoya ECS is another great event. Usually about 10~20 Fd3s still at these shows in street, show and drift form.
Japanese car meetings.
7's Day and other car meetings always are great places to meet new people and great friends. The community of FD owners in Japan is very strong with few ego's to get in the way. A great place to share your passion.
From day time circuit collections of demo cars all in the one place.
To night time owners mixing with the tuners in a relaxed atmosphere.
History
You will find documented minor and major changes throughout the FD3s History and small reviews. Not only from Mazda itself, but Mazda Speed and tuning companies. Sometimes you remember that brochure or ad.
Features.
FD3s Mazda and tuning car history, enthusiast's cars and shop demo car features. All serve for inspiration and some of them are just best of breed. Be it drift, time attack, show, race or street cars.
Tuning ideas, parts reviews, technical ideas, wheel guides and more. With over 100 tuning companies in Japan producing parts for the FD3s, theres a lot to show.
Photoshop ideas and more. Anything that comes to mind really.
RACING
While the FD is only really competing in a few events these days, there's not much to cover. In the past the FD3s has competed in the following Japanese categories.
Super Taikyu (Endurance Racing)
Super Endurance was previously known as N1 class racing. I follow Okabe Jidosha and other FD RX7 runners like west river and dream girls. And theres a lot of history of 12 Hour racing in Australia.
Super GT.
Super GT was previously known as the JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Cars)
JGTC included many teams and cars that were roughly based on production based vehicles. History will be updated soon. Since the new rules of Super GT all but one team remained. I followed RE-Amemiya and the M7 SGT7 and posted report on event progress. 2010 was the final year as RE-Amemiya is not running the FD3s SGT7 in 2011.
Time Attack and Circuit.
2011 sees these times
Revolution set the bar at 53.6 at tsukuba
Pan Speed holds 1:43.9 at Fuji Speedway
RE-Amemiya will bring the Hurricane during 2011 and a return of the Legend 2002 spec machine.
RE-Xtreme usually covers a fair amount of TA and Circuit Attack events. Even a simple track day in Japan draws a large field of FD3s.
Targa Rally
These events offer an opportunity for road registered car's to be driven hard kind of as the designers intendend. Manufacturers can be proud of these events.
RE-Xtreme has owned 3 FD3s to date and follows the build and ownership of my 3 FD3s. On separate blogs you can see what it takes to build something unique vs buying pre-made. These cars don't favour one manufacturer over another. They tend to merge the best of the best.
So if you have a bit of free time. Start reading through the archives.
