Sunset 2010

As the sun sets on 2010, lets look at the year ahead. 2011 The 20th Anniversary Year.

Since the FD3s was release in 1991 It may be fitting that this becomes the last year of RE-Xtreme.

It seems the longevity has proven that Japan's best pure sports car has some real staying power. Certainly last years 7's day showed the community is still very strong in Japan and around the world. 9 years after the final production run of FD3s, the tuners are now looking to other things in search of direction. SE3P Rx8 are becomming more mainstream as the "quality" FD3s in japan are dissapearing. However the Rx8 is also in it's last year of production.

2011 brings a little uncertainty.

Super GT will have no FD3s Rx7 on the grid.
Super Taikyu? Teams still to confirm but highly unlikely.

Time Attack? There still seems to be activity here and it's a good source of development.
D1? Will it continue? What will it change to?

For privateers in motorsport. (most of us) Drift or Circuit
The FD3s is now becomming a cheaper option for entry. Although running costs remain high.

Drag.
Theres still a lot of tube frame rx7s out there with 1000+ hp. We may see more in 2011.

Show Scene.
Has the FD3s been done to death? Could it be a show stealer once more? As always, 2011 starts with Tokyo Auto Salon and I'll be there taking a slab of images for you all.

RE-Amemiya will be there with 5 FD3s, Revolution, RE-Wing, R-Magic, Etc etc
Auto-Labo are building a new 「air force +」 FD3s body kit with Super GT inspiration.
So there is still new life in the old dog yet.

Hope you all enjoyed 2010!

Merry Xmas Inspiration.

Concept time. Red White Green and Black is kind of Xmasy... I'm sure Santa wouldn't mind this for some fun sliding.

Version III direction is finally final. If I change again, it will only be with a major influx of cash.

The race image is still in mind. Since SEMA I was playing with Mazdaspeed colours for my own car.
RP-01 in White with basic Mazdaspeed stripes.

With RS-D would be nice but unaffordable.

I'm always thinking about something.

I thought about a road rally targa rally car. I had the idea of a gruppe B night stage monster rally car. If gruppe B was still around it maybe something like this in Monte Carlo form. Do luck have a new rear spoiler not unlike this one.  Green SSR inspiration from vaughn's RTR.

I also had a look back to the '70s Fuji Speedway of old and came up with this variation on the Savanna RX-3 livery. Deeeeeep TE37 in effect.

I also decided to update the Historic SA22c Daytona design concept to an FD widebody car that wouldn't be out of place in an IMSA race.

This one has deep Gun Blue Rays 57G

And the Orange / Red version with 3 piece SSR.

Sema MazdaSpeed 6 from Tri-point inspiration in 2 forms.

BBS in effect here.

On RE-Xtreme Version III I'm always updating something there have been many others over the past year.

I still love this Combat 7:13 Fighter version with 19" xc-8 work rims.

More as a tribute to historic liveries, I replicated the Art Car as the M1 was always a favourite.

And the basis for the RE-Xtreme headers. GULF Livery from GT-40

Marlboro for the smoker out there. GT-R rims

NewMan Porshe 956 didn't look this good.

Super GT Castrol supra is almost the same...

My own version of the 787B GT Sports design.

There are and will be more.

GT5 Pictures

Drift Drift Drift. GT5 is cool. Not real, But cool.

Highland Fling.

Or a german sausage.

Tracksides are still empty. Doesn't look real at all.

I usually live at Autumn Ring Mini... Check that track in the lobby. I also usually open my own room. RE-Xtreme FD3s Drift when I'm online.

Art is everywhere

Oops. Lucky it's only GT5 Underbody is detailed.

Options are great for photos. These two are the exact same position.

You can get to most angles.

Some details are less that real.  These lights outside the hanger for example.

Some photos are almost real.

Lighting can be interesting.

Wangan Runs are much more boring that real life. Yes, even in a one make race.

Rev Speed Super Battle - Privateer Class

Lets have a look at some real local heros.

This is Gunsou's awesome MSFEEDAMEIA SE37K Machine

Troubled with 115Db noise and a black flag, then some mission trouble, he did well with 1.04 in the end.

Vatman rear wing and some bumper venting. kind of strange considering the stock black bumper lip is still there. :)

This car is Mashyu's S-tyre machine.

This complete RE-Amemiya N1 AD GT body lloks cool with Scoot bonnet

Front and Rear FAT RE30 looks cool. No times for theis car.

Fast action.

Rev Speed's project car was featured a while back in the magazine as a car that can be a cheap, fst time attacker.

Without any aero, you can drive it around and still do a track day.
Yes it has had considerable but sensible mods and gives rewards.

Rev Speed Super Battle 2010 - Dino's Perspective

I usually spend the Rev Speed Super Lap Battle day with Dino and his head full of cubic litre engine capacities, workshop activities, drivers profiles & tuning car historianity. We have both watched the cars develop over the years and appreciate the effort that goes in. But basically we just have fun at this event because of the noise and the variety.

I arrived just a tad too late, because as I was parking my car, Dino was heading up to the first corner to shoot the Open Class cars that had just hit the track. See above.

And while he stayed right until the end of the day to get the required shots, I headed off to explore the Tsukuburgring. Fun Fun.

Ride height at tsukuba is no issue due to it's silky surface.

Revolution RX8 is a great looking car. Black and carbon shining in the sun. Actionio

Gotta love the anglio.

Get the detailio.

And a little movementino in perspectivo.

Some lightino in the right place

And some nice reflectino..

Some preparatino.

And some fastino shutterino speedino.

Trio pan speedio

Dino's favourite R34s were missing... he had a little cry. But I was happy.

He dedicated a little spotlight on the perfected Revolution FD.

In Dino's words. "It's so tough when out in action, it has been known to scare small children that have dared look at it! "

Kikuchi Yasushi (Yasu) heading out for some 53second attackino in la machina.

Nice perspective. I had the phrases ... "its all about perspective." or something like that running through my head all day.

My perspective says... how much was that? It only runs 1 lap? Why?

Where the shopping goes.

And your partner would usually sit is kind of restrictino.

Faster than a premature ejac..... etc etc etc erm... jack rabbit. You get the idea.

Mmmm. street specificino

Pan speeds 2 cars x 2 sets + 1 car x 3 sets = lots of tyres. I hate mathematicina.

His camera gives awesome claritina.

A little boost kept this car a little slower than potential.

All teams say they were not satisfied (even revolution) and can go faster in 2011. Where have I heard that before...?

Fujita's Lemontino. looks like tvr inspiritino a la headlighto

IPF at the rear and Advan RS Gun as usual.

For more of Dino's coverage, always check out http://speedhunters.com/, modified and other mags.

Good on ya, mate. Magnifico.
