D1 2009 Round 5 Ebisu - From Drift Life

I had to share these awesome shots from Andy. Head over to his Drift Life blog for his perspecive on all events from Ebisu. For me I'll fill in the FD gaps. Above Takyama had one of the toughest tasks with Nomura in the ER34. Maybe next time.

Suenaga disposed of Inose in an easy looking fashion. The monster power Friends S15 has around 700hp from memory.

I love how the FD is sooo small. You can hardly even see it behind Kumakubo's Evo X. The high rear boot line would have him thinking.... where is he?

This was definately a close call. I don't know how they decide.

Check this Drift Hop by Hibino. AWESOME! AWESOME! but the imbalance allowed Suenaga to get right inside.

Suenaga's win was deserved in the final. Swapping positions saw the FD's awsome power and traction combo unleashed.
Enjoy the Drift Life.

Andy's 500hp Power Vehicle

When I moved back to japan in 2006, I was introduced to Andy from powervehicles.
He had just purchased his Ex Sanai Works Circuit FD3s Rx7 that promptly transformed well into a high level drift machine. Over the subsequent few years, The car and Andy himself have both developed into a formiddible team. Andy is now at the level to enter D1Street Legal in his Chaser, the FD3s remains his SERIOUS FUN machine.

A huge T78 helps pump out 500hp from the beast and it looks awesome pumping smoke from the bronze TE37. Watch and enjoy.

D1 Preview - Powervehicles.

D1SL competitor and FD owner, Andy Gray from Powervehicles.com is set up in Ebisu these days. His new blog "Drift Life" will be providing everyone a look at the drift scene in northern Japan. He is also offering drift scene tours and D1 car rental. So check it out.

His coverage of the D1 practice day for the double finals this weekend shows some interesting stuff. None moreso than the NKB D1 garage 3 rotor fitted with new TCP Magic front fenders and a new huge rear wing. Uras front and rear bumpers and canards were there before??? maybe. This car is a real mongrel.

RE-Xtreme RC Drift

For those of you with RC drifters, like Yokomo drift package, Tamiya or HPI. There really are a lot of new parts available right now. The world of brushless engine technology and Lipo batteries is on song and the number of bodies are increasing. Tyres with huge fake stretch, aluminium wheels, Old school wheels and a million anodised Aluminium chassis parts.
I have a wide selection of real looking rims inclusing these TE37 with new Neova tyres (among others) with the exact tread pattern. RC replica's of FD are pretty good.

I had a tiny bit of spare time today, so I broke out the old Drift Package and ran though a battery. Dust your's off and do some wicked drifts.

Hpi Body Kit 1/10 RC

This kit is an add on to the mazdaspeed FD body. Front fender flares and deep REAmemiya Style AD style Skirts with an RE-A N1 style bumper with canards. Best thing is you'll be able to run wide wide rubber (plastic) for more deep dish action drifto.

Damn! Another body I'll have to buy.

Also RE-Amemiya are selling sticker sets to upgrade the yokomo car to the new design.

Max Power FD

Mark from Max Power sent me some updated pics of his ultra low FD. Newly inspired matt black and a front splitter has it looking "Flush" (I believe thats the new terminology)

Certainly shows a normal body FD can definately pull off all kinds of looks. This race prototype style is a favourite of mine.
