Piers' Sunline Racing FD

Piers certainly loves cars, with a couple of pimped out soarers, a full carbon body GTR and this FD, his garage is the envy of many. (Update FD now Sold.)

This car has been a progression of sorts but remains first and formost to be a fast streetable FD. Sure it can lap Aida Ti circuit in the 1.40 region, but it does this through finesse rather than raw power as it still operates on twins which makes it a perfect demonstration of what can be done with a lightweight machine.

Piers enlisted the help of Sunline Racing in his hometown of Okayama to perform daily maintenance of his new FD and it just went from there, an RE-Amemiya GT AD Widebody kit + Cwest front bar and lights. Rear diffuser and Sunline Cooling Bonnet were added.

I met Piers after owning my own AD GT +Cwest Rx7. I'm sure we would have followed similar tuning If I'd met him earlier.

RE-Amemiya AD is simly awesome. SSR Type C wheels are UBER COOL.

Sunline's original Bonnet is a cheaper version of the AutoExe design that does a great job of venting bonnet temp.

The car was so good that it was selected as a feature car for SSR wheel company and it adorned the pages of option Magazine and others for some time. This car is used for regular track meets in Japan where piers can tune his driving skills and simply have fun racing GTRs and the like.

He regularly runs in the Meister cup and recently got his first class podium on the track.

Inside the car remains streetable. Only the battery box gets in the way of shopping. Carpet remains.

Unfortunately with the evolution of Piers' Carbon R34 the FD was sucking funds, so it was sold.

Something this good was for sale later.

It's legacy will be around for some time.
