SAB Meeting - R-Magic

Ok, The Official R-Magic display at the Super Autobacs Meet was small with only Takayama's D1 car on display but the customer cars were out in force. Some could be considered Demo cars as they wear the full catalog of Aero and performance upgrades.

Firstly I'll start with a walk around of the D1 machine. Right side features RAYS Gram lights 57D in Orange.
The fenders are a little scarred but the car has had some offs during the year and it's driven extremely hard every time.

Front bumper is attached with this spring mechanism for easy access. For those of you who have an FD with this kind of kit you'll appreciate the distance you have to lean from the front of the car to access the engine bay.

The front lip is litterally a mile from the AST so leaning over does your back in. My RE-A 9 front was like this. So an easy removal is necessary for fast pit work. This Engine is a 500hp monster.

R-Magic is the Voltex of the FD world. Small add on canards and lips totally change the look of the car. Pinky"6" is looking very cool.

In this image you can see the bonnet has been further lightened. The tow hook and the crazy plank tower bar. Simple but effective.

Bonnet dampers are a good idea on an FD too. As the wind can often damage the top pointy coners if the bonnet blows back.

Beside the D1 car the normal N1 wide body kit looks a bit tame. Especially without the bonnet.

Amost looks too plain and you walk past cars at an event like this. You have to go around a few times to find the interesting parts combinations.

Rear fenders really fatten up the rear a lot more than the RE-AD or Feed bolt on kits.

Now this is my Favourite R-Magic car.

1. because it's white.

2. because its still street registered.

3. because it has 600hp

4. because it can lap tsukuba in 57seconds.

and

5. because it looks F****** tough on RAYS RE30.

Maru san's Time Attack warrior will be hitting tsukuba again over the winter months. Expect some fast times.

Compare that car to this dress up focussed machine and there is a contrast. Carbon is on display here.

Yellow and carbon combo is a bit too Initial D for me. The wheel offset doesn't have the sam aggression as the kit.

For me the painted front looks much better. But hey I wouldn't knock it back as a daily driver.

Rear end is just as busy with a custom rear lip spoiler between the huge R-Magic Pro Staff rear wing. This one also has a RE-A diffuser.

This one is another car that has been slowly progressing aver the last few years. It now has 18" RAYS CE28N in Black. Carbon is almost indistinguishable on black cars. Maybe next year it will get the new R-Magic Bonnet.

This car struck my eye because it is probably a great street car. Sensible mods free of widebody craziness and a mix of parts that somehow is very cohesive. I give this a 9/10

I still love feed bonnet and Veilside skirts because they really enhance the lines of the FD.

I'd change the mirrors for craft square but thats it. Subtle but effective.

R-Magic's PINK has a lot to answer for. This one goes under the radar.

But you sure can't miss this! Add a set of wheels and you'd have a nice car......

That needs re-painting. haha. He/She had a small collection inside.

Now normally on RE-Xtreme I don't post Other Rotors But i'm more open minded these days. Especially when cars look this cool.

R-Magic RX8 aero and 19" Volk GT-C set it off nicely.

This FD was parked upside it and wore circa 2003 Need for speed underground graphics.

This one however wore the older cherry pink warpaint. Which i find a little more tollerable to the current shade. Having owned 2 FC3s previously, I still have a soft spot for them. This car has amazing presence and while it only looks ho hum in these pics, on the street it looked amzing.
