SAB Meeting - Revolution

Revolution: TA-2

Here is a look at the most hard core FD out there at the moment in Japan.
Take a Super GT race car body in full dry carbon and attatch it to an FD shell that remarkable still retains the original strut locations.

Spend two and a half years building and refining it and you you have a very potent Time Attack weapon and an insane demonstration of your ability.

I spoke to the creator of this beast and he told me about some of the complexity in obtaining something of this level. But basically he did it mostly himself with hand fabrication of many parts.

Inside it's all business with hewland trans and Motec dash. These guys have strong ties with AVO in OZ and use the latest Motec equipment.
RAYS do the wheel duty and the bronze RE-30 look awesome. When you spend a while looking around this car you can see the amount of custom work that has gone into it. The car runs 18 inch rubber, but as the Super GT body runs fatter profile tyres the 18/265 and 18/295 combination from Hankook tyre sit a little awkwardly in the fenders.

The RE-Amemiya body is really just a small part of this car. Finishing it and making it into a race car is much more that whacking on this kit.

Rear brake package would be more than enough for any street car on the front. HUGE callipers and rotors help this car stop from 280kph at Fuji Speed Way.
Some panels dont match exactly, but Revolution have done an amazing job with this machine. The next test is on the 4th Dec and the Rev Speed battle is Dec 10. Already lapping in 56 region in testing. Lets hope they can break the tsukuba lap record for RWD.

Revolution RX-Race RX8:

The Rx8 Race in Japan has been going on this year with complete dominance from knight sports who built a full on race car. In order to get closer to them, Revolution have added carbon doors and lots more mods to get their 8 competitive.

It's now looking ultra tough and is still a fully street legal machine. Under the bonnet you'll find the Revolution RX8 catalog and some carbing touches.

18 inch RE30 also do the the duty on the 8 although the size is a little smaller than the FD.
There is one more demo car in the Revolution stable, TA-1. That wasn't at this event but it should be out and about again soon.

Russ.
