Trust Greddy V-Mount

What's so important about this car? Well, it's the Trust Greddy development beast.

As of 7/7/2010, they are selling their new V-Mount Kit for around 300,000 yen and even less without the air filters. These kits should be called W mounts as the AC cooler is wedged in there too. It includes Radiator, Intercooler, AC mounting hardware and Airinx Pod filters. This will complement the current range of products like the greddy elbow, existing FMIC, titanium exhausts and countless other products.

What that really means is that with the number of discount greddy parts suppliers out there, we should be able to see good discounts on this item for FD fans, creating a cheaper, but good quality V-Mount Kit.

The other thing that interested me about their Demo Machine, was the wheel selection. 235/40/17 all around mounted on Work Emotion XD9 17"x9.5 +17. This seemed a nice size and perfect offset for the RE-A kit.

The tiny bit of tyre stretch, provided an easy fitment and should allow for lower grip levels for a slidey fun machine. No wing also adding to the driver inputs required to keep this thing straight.

  1. Would you recommend this kit for a hard driven street car?

  2. Easily handle mild tune on the street.

Depends on how much power you are making of course and what other mods you have.

Personally I feel the copper core V-Mount radiators are going to be better for extreme tune situations. Pan Speed's PRO is an example

But this is a good enough for a street car or even a track car. FMIC is by location undesirable. 2-5 laps and your done.

I never got around to installing a V-Mount on my own cars.

On the street they never really gave trouble,
But on the track with Wide Open throttle for extended peroids your always watching the temp guage.

Do the math and you can easily see that 10 laps of a small circuit is about 20 klms of full throttle! I doubt you'll ever come close to this punishment on the street. Even a mountain pass is 5 klms max and thats a lot of mid corner 50% throttle application.
